Burial at sea is conducted in accordance with federal requirements. Cremated human remains are committed to ocean waters at least three nautical miles from land, and South Shore Sea Burials completes the required EPA reporting after the service.
Services remain subject to sea and weather conditions. The captain has final responsibility for determining whether conditions are safe to depart. When unsafe conditions require cancellation, every effort is made to reschedule the service.
